Go Nuts for Donuts – Game of the Week

If you have kids, you’ve probably had one of those moments where your little ones just couldn’t share a toy. So what do you do then? The obvious solution is to take it away from both of them. Because if they can’t share it, then no one gets it! Well our newest Game of the Week is based around that principal.
Go Nuts for Donuts
As you might expect, Go Nuts for Donuts (published by Gamewright Games) is a casual, family weight game. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to play friendly with everyone. Quite the opposite actually. While this card game isn’t a mean one either, it will have you reading your opponents and trying to stop them from getting what they want. The basic premise of Go Nuts for Donuts is that you are trying to acquire the most victory points by collecting sets of tasty, tasty doughnuts.
Each round, a number of doughnut cards are laid face up on the table and each player secretly selects one they want to take. If you are the only person to pick a card, it’s yours! However if two or more people choose a card, then no one gets it. And since each type of doughnut scores in different ways (or has a special power), there is definitely more depth here than meets the eye. Go Nuts for Donuts has you trying to read your opponents to make the wisest decision on which card you should go after.
I’ve played Go Nuts for Donuts quite a few times now and am thoroughly enjoying it. It’s very easy to explain, plays quickly, and works perfect as a filler game or a family game. I’ve even played it with my non-gamer friends and they are able to get it right away. And that’s why it’s our newest Game of the Week.
